Hey Stampers!

Boy it's been a while since I've posted to my blog...been sooooo busy preparing for the craft fair in Roxboro this past Saturday.  We had so much fun and I sold most of all that I took!  See pics below for the projects I took (sorry, lighting stinks), I was so fortunate I just about sold out of everything!

Baby Shower Weekend!

Hey Stampers!

WOW...what a weekend!  Two Baby Showers in one day!  Fortunately, I only had to prepare cupcakes and a Diaper Cake (Our gift to baby) for my Daughter Kim's friend Miriam's and prepare favors, Diaper Cake and food for my Niece Missy's Shower.  What a turn out, about 50 showed up!  Below are pics of both Diaper Cakes and Missy's Shower pics!  I didn't get a good picture of my little train which I placed under cupcake tree...so as always, click on pic to enlarge for a better view.

Stampin' Up! 2011 Regionals Charlotte NC

Hey Stampers!

I had a wonderful time at Stampin' Up!'s Regional in Charlotte Friday!  It was very beneficial and I'm looking forward to implementing many of the tips and trying the new techniques I learned!!!  Some of these Ladies are sooooo talented!

We had the opportunity to make two Make & Takes using a new set from the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog (available to order from beginning September 1).  It's called "You Are Loved".   Very cute and  includes a Valentine sentiment, a general sentiment, a Love sentiment (coordinates with punches), a heart, and a flower cluster. Both Make & Takes included matching envelopes!!   See Pics below...

Typically, when Demonstrators meet at these types of events, they bring card fronts to swap with one another. I made two separate projects but only carried 20 of each, next time I may take more...there was hundreds of Demonstrators swapping and I would have loved to had some of all!

Here is my swaps, the masculine one you may remember since it is very similar to the card I sent my Dad this year for his Birthday using "Out West" stamp set.  The bookmark was made using the stamp set "Fox&Friends"  and is a stepped up version of the one we made in a Back To School class I gave Thursday Morning, isn't it so cute?!!!

Below are pics of the event, lots and lots of Stampers in this room guys!  Since we got up at the crack of dawn and I'm not kidding (I was at Linda Fisher's at 4:20 am) we were first in line and had our pic of seats.  Decided to sit right up front and had the Camera Lady in our way most of the time...isn't that the  way it goes?  But that was ok, they had a HUGE screen up and we could see every thing that was being demonstrated!

Ok, until next time...happy stampin!

Back to School Daycare Class

Hey Stampers!

Had a blast at Patty's Daycare Thursday!  These girls are soooo talented, you would think you were dealing with adults!  I have to contribute this to Patty, she is the best!  Not only does she work daily with them on their reading, writing and arithmetic but she encorages their creative sides as well with a full stock of crafting material for use at any time during the day! Here's pics of them and the adorable projects they made:

These are personal journals the girls made using a mini composition book, DSP (Designer Series Paper), Timeless Type Jr. Alphabet and Beautiful Wings Embosslits...these were so adorable!!!

Here's the cute, cute, cute pencil holders the girls made using the Owl Builder Punch (formally Two Step Owl) and Timeless Type Alpha die cuts and googly eyes!  I made the little box for them myself before the class to save time and they just punched out the owls vest and little red hearts and glued them on.

Finally, here they are working on their final project; an adorable bookmark using the stamp set Fox & Friends.  I wish I had pics once they finished but I forgot to take the pic...but don't fear, I loved this bookmark so much I decided to make a stepped up version to take as Swaps to the Regionals the next day in Charlotte and will include those pics on my next post!

Sorry it's been so long...

Hey Stampers!

Boy, it's been a while since I posted to my blog!  I began having trouble with my Verizon MIFI and was unable to be online or download/upload anything for several weeks, but I'm baaaack!

I met my BFF for lunch today, we had such a good time I sure do miss her since she's moved away.  Here is the card I made for her, I CASED this from Kelly Nelson (kellysstampingspot.com) for the most part, may tweak this a little more and make a few for Regionals next week:

I just love this little guy! He is so versitile and I have been able to do so many things with him.  I'll post a few more examples later...

Recipe for this card is:

Paper: Early Expresso, Saraha Sand CS, Blushing Bride CS & DSP
Ink: Early Expresso and Blushing Bride
Stamps:  Elements of Style and Teeny Tiny Wishes
Tools: Owl Builder Punch (formally 2 Step Owl Punch), Perfect Details Texturz Plate

Thanks for dropping in, see ya next time!

Daddy's Birthday Card

Hey Stampers!

This is the Card I made for my Daddy's Birthday!  I just love it, hope he does!!! He's a Cowboy at heart (Where my Sister got the love of Horses from). The "Girl's" think I should make these to take to our Stampin' Up! Regional in Charlotte in August as my Swaps (Demonstrator's swap their creations for others). I think that's just what I will do!

Here's the recipe:

Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla and Early Expresso
Ink: Early Expresso
Tools: Crimper, Crop-a-dile, Modern Label Punch and Small Oval (retired).
Embellished with Hemp Twine and Eyelets.

******************************

I think I would like to have two cards to give away at Regional for Swaps, one average and the other a little special, you know, for the "special" ones that may be floating around on floor of the convention center. So...I'm also kicking around this card as an alternative...a little more complicated but I used my favorite stamp set "Aviary", I simply lovvvve that stamp set.
Here's the recipe for this card:

Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black and Very Vanilla
Ink: Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black
Tools: Scallop Border Punch, Jewerly Tag Punch and Crop-a-dile
Embellished with pears, safety pin and 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon

Ok, until next time Stampers...

Hostess Club Birthdays!

Hey Stamper!

I had a blast last night at our Monthly Hostess Club meeting...we celebrated my UpLine leader Linda and fellow member Marge's Birthdays! Don't they all look adorable in their Sponge Bob Square Pants party hats?  That's Sharon there to the right,  she's such a nut!  These Ladies sure have a good time while being creative!  I think our ages in this group range from 29 to 65, it's great!

I thought I would make a Awning Card for Marge using our retired Birthday Bakery stamp set, I used the Square Lattice embossing folder on Regal Rose CS.

In lieu of a card for Linda I made her a nice 3-d project to hang in her craft room, liked it so much I'm going to make one for myself!  I saw where a Newbie Demonstrator had used a cut out of Stampin' Up logo on a order box for a recycle challenge, thought I could do the same here.  Added to chipboard and Basic Black CS and a few embellishments and Viola!  If you can; click on pic and read the saying I chose, don't know who to give credit for on this part, someone emailed it to me years ago when I was working at BTS and I kept a copy all these years.

Cards for my Upline ~ Linda Fisher

Hey Stampers!

First thing this morning I went to Linda Fisher's for a Christmas Card Class, took her a gift of a couple of cards and thought I would share.  Linda always has a good crowd and of course, the "Girls" were there, we all had such a "Jolly" time!  I will take pics tomorrow and post them of all the pretty cards I made while there.  Right now I am going to post a couple of cards I made for Linda over the weekend.

This first one was so much fun to make!!!  First I made the flower by punching two scallop circles in Marina Mist card stock, I used the retired << sniff >> Build a Brad kit for the the center. Now, the M. Mist just so happened to go very well with the old DSP from a Simply Scrappin kit I purchased years ago at a Stampin' UP! workshop!!!, then I stamped Avairy in Early Expresso and Marina Mist, threw on a couple of SU Rhinestones, and Voila!

I used the lovely Pocket Silhouettes stamp set for the next card "stampin" with the 2010-2011 IN COLORS.  Attached them to a Scallop Square punch, ran Whisper White through the BS with the Square Lattice embossing folder.  Oval All and the Scallop Oval to finish it off!

Ok, Stampers I'll be back tomorrow with pics of Christmas Cards from Linda F's Class!

Happy Birthday Cowgirl!

This is the card I made for my Sister's Birthday this past Monday. She's a Cowgirl if there every was one...I made the fence post by scratch, sure wish I had the SU Woodgrain stamp it would have made it soooo much easier; instead I had to run my brayer through several different inks to get this effect, not so bad I guess!  I stamped the hat and boots in Early Expresso with the stamp set "Out West" and wrapped hemp twine for the rope over the fence post.
As for my gift to her, a big ole' chocolate bar, a little note/picture holder made from a binder clip and a punch art Chick (she raises chickens out on her farm and has baby chicks all the time) Too Cute!!! The gift bag was made from the same designer paper I used for the background on the card and the SU Fancy Favor Box Die.
